update

howdy ya'll,
just handed in my last essay, and school is out for the summer for me. so i'm starting to learn a bit of Finnish. which is hard. almost all of the languages in europe (and most of the world) originate from the Indo-European Language Family, including english, icelandic, french, german, etc. Finnish is not a part of this language family. it is part of a very small group of languages called the Uralic Language Family, of which hungarian and estonian are also a part. so the structure and mechanics of the language are very different, and probably difficult for an english speaker. but quite interesting.

and i've got some friends visiting. very soon. my friend ashton arrives today, and liz on the 12th of may. so we're gonna do some gallavanting for my last month. which is good, because i'm actually pretty sick of reykjavik at this point.

what else... i have my flat all set up in helsinki when i arrive, and it looks like i'm gonna be staying for 3 months, right up until late august, at which point i return to montreal in time to start my last year of uni.

thats pretty much all there is to report. i'll probably post again when i'm in helsinki in early june.
