i have been sick as a dog. something gross like flu meets strep throat or something. but its over! after a visit to the clinic super close to my house and a trip to the pharmacy, i have magic pills courtesy of western medicine.
the medical system costs everybody a bit when they visit (2000 ISK w/ insurance, more w/out), and then people's insurance kicks in or not. there is much less stuff available here 'over the counter' than in canadia.
we finally got the last roommate; so the line-up is:

4 continents represented. so we got some sweet gender balance, and a bit of an age gap. 4 are 21ish and 2 are 25+ish. 3 people are earth science majors. but things work fairly well, considering we're 6 in a flat. i'm probably gonna move out next term though into a smaller place closer to downtown reykjavik. actually with another canadian. but that is still up in the air.
and school has started. so i'm quite a bit busier now, thus the zero blog entries. my life is more boring now too, or routine, also contributing to less bloggings. school is whatever. this term i'm taking 3 courses:
intro to geology and geography in iceland
icelandic culture
icelandic folklore
all of which are super interesting. the earth sciences department here in iceland is completely out of control compared to its other faculties because of all the volcanic/tectonic/geothermal action going on on the island.
the other 2 courses are closer to my usual styles, and they're pretty good. lots of learning going on.
